Kuwait celebrates 50 years of independence!

National Day celebrations mark Kuwait’s independence from British rule on June 19, 1961. Official celebrations marking the event are, however, held on February 25, the day on which late Shaikh Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah, the eleventh ruler of Kuwait, took the reins of the country’s leadership. The Liberation Day celebrated on February 26 marks the overthrow of the Iraqi invasion of the country.
